Overview:
This standard applies to the basic safety and essential performance characteristics of blankets, pads or mattresses in medical use intended for warming patients. Heating devices intended to prewarm a bed are also included in the scope. This standard does not cover heating devices intended for physiotherapy. Radiant warmers, incubators, and transport incubators are covered by separate standards. This standard amends und supplements DIN EN 60601-1 (VDE 0750-1):2007-07. The responsible Committee is Subcommittee UK 812.7 “Medizinische Geräte in der Pädiatrie” (“Pediatric medical equipment”) of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
